The most delicious run EVER returns to Fairfax, June 3, 2017! The mouthwatering festival and 5K proves that a calorie burned is a calorie earned and brings the pages of Cooking Light and Health alive.
The Fit Foodie celebrates the balance of delicious, healthy food and a fun, active lifestyle in a morning filled with food, fitness and fun. Fit Foodies hit the ground running or walking during the 5K in Old Town Square, and indulge in tasty bites at each mile along the course.
The fun doesn’t end at the finish line. After burning those calories, Fit Foodies head into the John Hancock Vitality Village Food and Fitness Festival. The post race festival features bites from local restaurants, beer and wine garden, and back-to-back cooking demonstrations by Cooking Light Editor, Hunter Lewis, and Chef John Melfi of the Oval Room. On the fitness stage, local pros Taria Ramos of Inspired Cravings and DC-based fitness and yoga instructor, Kristen Cheman lead mini workout classes.
Also inside the festival, fit foodies have the chance to meet John Hancock Elite Athlete Ambassadors, Desiree Linden, a two-time Olympian and the fourth fastest American marathoner of all time, and Ryan Hall, American record holder in the 20K, 30K and half marathon.
Participating Fit Foodie brands and restaurants include: California Figs, Wasa, Laura Chenel, Krave Jerky, Thinsters Cookie Things, Natalie’s Orchid Island Juice Company, Marin French Cheese, The Oval Room Restaurant, Palmercare, Rhythm Superfoods, Tropical Smoothie Café, True Food Kitchen, True Made Foods, Zweet Sport, and more!
Runners can also form a team and fundraise on behalf of No Kid Hungry in support of their mission to end childhood hunger in America.
